Will I have to change my brushing regime?

After you’ve spent such a lot of money on getting your implants fitted and getting yourself that winning smile that you’ve always dreamed of, it’s only natural that you want to protect your new-found gnashers and you may well be concerned that you need to make some radical alterations to your brushing regime. Unlike with dentures, which you can remove every night to clean, dental implants are permanent and thus can present more of a problem to clean.  However, you don’t necessarily need to make any dramatic changes to your normal morning and nighttime regime; you just need to focus more on the implants than on the other teeth. As has been mentioned in a previous article, implanted teeth don’t generally respond to whitening and you really don’t want to be travelling back to Manchester or London every time you want to replace your implants because they’ve faded; spend extra time on your implanted teeth and make sure you avoid over-consuming staining beverages like coffee and wine.  Ultimately, don’t panic but make sure you pay your new teeth extra care, otherwise they may end up going the same way as your old ones!
